WeavEast Events

As the WeavEast Fellows move across Atlantic Canada, all members of the public are welcome to attend!

WeavEast Meetups in Newfoundland and Labrador

Invitation: A new network of people is forming (called “WeavEast”) in Atlantic Canada for folks who are doing “social innovation” – changing their communities for the better and developing innovative solutions to the big, tangly challenges our communities are facing. In each Atlantic province there are two or three folks holding “WeavEast Fellowships” over the summer with a mission to contact and connect with social innovators – people like you!

This network is in its early days, which means we’re looking to you (and people like you) to help us figure out what it’ll be, and how it can help enable more great work here in this province. The first step, as always, is sitting down around the table to chat about it. WeavEast fellows Josh Smee and Maggie Burton will be hosting a series of regional meetups for social innovators across the province over the next few weeks – see below for the schedule. Each of these meetups will be a chance to connect with WeavEast and with other people doing interesting work in your area, provide your early input into what the network should focus on, and help us map out all the exciting work already happening so that people can find each other more easily. These will be informal chats over a light snack or some treats.

If you know someone who you think should be there, please forward an invite on to them - you’re the expert in what’s going on in your region. Feel free to drop a line to WeavEast Fellow Josh Smee (jsmee@choicesforyouth.ca)  with any questions. Otherwise, we hope to see you there!
